Allí, los padres de Sofía le entregan a Sara el diario de su hija, asegurándole que lo han encontrado en su habitación bajo una nota con su nombre. En las páginas del diario, Sofía disecciona con crudeza y lucidez las fases de su enfermedad y los sentimientos de desesperación, frustración, inseguridad y tristeza que le provocan. Sara no puede evitar sentirse identificada y, poco a poco, casi sin darse cuenta, empieza su propio calvario con la comida.
